Inter striker Edin Dzeko was sent home from training at Appiano Gentile today as a precaution after showing cold symptoms, according to a report in the Italian media.

As has been reported by Sky Sport, via FCInternews, Thursday was Inter’s first day back in training since the Christmas break.

All staff and players had to be tested for COVID-19 on arrival with full contact training not taken place until the results were in.

It has not been reported that Edin Dzeko tested positive for COVID-19, but it does appear that he had cold-like symptoms which Simone Inzaghi will not want the whole team to catch.

Not all players are back in Italy yet, mainly those who flew to see their families in South America and have not managed to return yet.

The results of the COVID-19 tests that were taken by the whole squad are expected to be known during Thursday evening.
