Inter appear to be edging closer and closer to finalising the signing of Borussia Monchengladbach defender Matthias Ginter on a free transfer, according to a report in the Italian print media today.

As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport today, all of the indications coming out of Germany over the past week suggest that Inter is in the driving seat when it comes to acquiring the German defender.

Matthias Ginter recently announced he would be leaving Borussia Monchengladbach at the end of his current deal which expires in June 2022.

Inter are not the only interested party, but they have certainly made the most appealing offer to the player so far.

The offer in question from the Nerazzurri would see Matthias Ginter earn around €4-5 million per season on a deal that will likely run for three or four years.

This will give him stability and the chance to win trophies.
