Inter are still interested in signing Cagliari midfielder Nahitan Nandez in January should someone from the midfield leave the club during the window, according to a report in the Italian media.

As has been reported by Quotidiano Sportiva, Inter executives such as Sporting CEO Beppe Marotta and Sporting Director Piero Ausilio still would like to add the Uruguayan midfielder to the squad at some point due to his great attitude on the pitch and his versatility.

In order for that to happen in January though, someone would need to leave the Nerazzurri first. This is an unlikely scenario but if it were to happen it would almost certainly be fellow Uruguayan Matias Vecino.

He wants to leave the club in the near future as he is getting almost no game time under Simone Inzaghi right now. He seems more likely to wait for the summer when his contract expires and he can choose a team he has more interest in.
