Inter could choose to sell Stefan de Vrij in the summer should Matthias Ginter join on a free transfer, according to a report in the Italian print media today.

As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport today, Inter may have spotted an opportunity to get a major capital gain given they signed Stefan de Vrij for free from Lazio in 2018.

Since then he has been a very important player in defence for the club. The potential arrival of Matthias Ginter gives Inter the opportunity to raise serious money, though.

Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur are known to be interested in the Dutch defender and would possibly be willing to pay €40 million even €50 million for a player that Inter got for free.

A sale of that magnitude without causing a huge alteration to the squad would be perfect for Inter’s current financial position which is improving but not repaired yet.
