The arrival of Inter president Steven Zhang in Milan is likely to result in the finalising of Marcelo Brozovic’s contract renewal very soon, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As has been reported today by La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Croatian midfielder has continued to reiterate his desire to remain at the club despite concrete interest from Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone.

The Spanish team have been keen on Marcelo Brozovic for some time but the player wants to stay with Inter.

Recent telephone contact between Marcelo Brozovic’s father and the club seems to have resulted in the arrangement of a new meeting where both parties will be hoping to finalise the extension which has been on the cards for many months.

Positive signals have come from Inter president Steven Zhang towards the midfielder and the Chinese businessman is expected to be in Italy after his trip to America.
