Romelu Lukaku will only be able to return to Inter from Chelsea if the London club are prepared to lose a lot of money, according to a report in the Italian print media today.

As has been reported by Corriere dello Sport, there is no way that Inter can afford to buy the Belgian forward back so soon after he left the club for €115 million.

The majority of that money went straight into the Inter coffers so it is not like it can just be used again to buy Romelu Lukaku back. Chelsea are also now paying the striker €15 million per season which is almost double what Inter would be able to pay.

It is not impossible to fathom him returning to Inter on a loan deal in which the London club still pay a percentage of the player’s wages.

That is a risk for Chelsea though as his permanent value would then plummet meaning they are destined to lose money.
