Inter and Juventus will get their wish for the Supercoppa Italiana final to be postponed to a later date, according to a report in the Italian print media today.

As has been reported by Corriere dello Sport, the Lega Calcio will soon grant the request from the two clubs to move the Supercoppa Italiana final away from January 12 and towards a later date.

It is not yet known what the later date will be but it is believed that the two clubs wanted it to be played at the end of the season.

This is because the fixture list is already congested for the two teams even without the final happening in January. Another reason for the desire to move is that there is a high risk right now that players will contract Covid-19 and miss the match.

That will lower the spectacle for the fans which is important for such a match.
