Inter are remaining optimistic about the possibility of signing Lucas Digne on loan from Everton in the January transfer window, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport today, the French full back has found himself out of Rafael Benitez’s plans at Everton following a row between the pair.

Inter are keen on signing him so that he can alternate with Ivan Perisic over the second half of the season. There is a chance that Everton will sanction the loan with an option for Inter to buy him at the end of the season, rather than an obligation to buy him.

This means Inter has half a season to evaluate if they want to keep Lucas Digne. That also gives them time to learn whether Ivan Perisic will be remaining at the club and signing a new contract or not.
