Italian journalist Mario Sconcerti has explained how he thinks Inter and AC Milan becoming real forces in Serie A again is very important for everyone, according to a report in the Italian media.

As has been reported by TMW Radio, the Italian journalist clearly feels that the historical importance that the two Milan clubs hold means that it is great for Italian football if they are competing for titles.

“It is fundamental for the growth of the whole movement. We have had extraordinary cases, such as Inter, Juventus, Barcelona, beyond the small teams. Player prices have dropped a lot, it is a very delicate moment, see also the problems of liquidity indices right now that the transfer market is upon us.”

The nine-season domination of Juventus in Serie A was partly due to the fact that Inter and AC Milan were at their lowest ebb in many many years.

Neither team was challenging for Serie A titles, nor were they making any sort of an impact in the Champions League like they both had in the past.

Now though, Inter are the current champions of Italy and have reached the Round of 16 of the Champions League, and AC Milan are just four points behind them in Serie A.
