Legendary former AC Milan coach Arrigo Sacchi feels that the Champions League round of sixteen tie between Inter and Liverpool will be a very intriguing matchup.

Speaking to Naples-based newspaper Il Mattino in an interview published in today’s print edition, Sacchi hailed the clash as a tactically interesting test for the Nerazzurri.

Inter will undoubtedly come up against one of their toughest opponents of the season when they first host the Red at the San Siro before heading to Anfield for the second leg.

Simone Inzaghi’s team will look at their form in Serie A this season as well as the fact that they managed to make the knockout rounds with a game to spare in their group, and feel that they have every chance of progressing.

However, the Reds won all six of their group stage matches and are one of the form sides in the Premier League, and Sacchi believes they will be a big test for the Nerazzurri.

“Inter seems to me to be more well-composed as a team than the other sides in Italy at the moment,” he stated, “but I am very curious to see how they cope with Liverpool, whose reserve team gave Milan a harsh lesson at the San Siro.”
