Inter could back off their interest in Cagliari midfielder Nahitan Nandez after an alleged incident of domestic violence involving the 25-year-old.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the Uruguayan has an arrest warrant based on the alleged incident in his home country.

Nandez had been a major transfer target for the Nerazzurri during the summer, and the club have also been reported to be considering a move for him during the January transfer window, while other clubs in Napoli also have him as a target.

However, the Cagliari midfielder is currently in self-isolation due to testing positive for COVID-19, and has now been subject to allegations of domestic abuse by a former partner.

These issues could further strain Nandez’s relationship with the Rossoblu, although they could also cause the likes of Inter as well as the Partenopei to cool their interest in signing the player.
