Inter are moving forward in their pursuit of Borussia Monchengladbach defender Matthias Ginter on a free transfer next summer.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the Nerazzurri are getting closer to bringing the German in after offering him a contract.

Ginter’s current deal with Gladbach is set to run out at the end of June 2022, and he has confirmed that he has no intention of extending his contract with the Bundesliga side.

The Nerazzurri have been one of the clubs most keenly interested in signing the 28-year-old as they look to reinforce their squad through free transfers next summer.

The club have already put forward an offer to the defender who is now considering it, and according to the Gazzetta they are now getting closer and closer to finding an agreement with him to join on a free transfer next summer.
