Inter have offered Borussia Monchengladbach defender Matthias Ginter a four-year contract next summer worth a net of €3 million per season.

This according to Italian news outlet Calciomercato.com, who report that the Nerazzurri have put forward the offer to try and convince the 28-year-old to join on a free transfer when his contract expires with Gladbach.

Inter are stepping up their pursuit of Ginter after the German officially announced that he has no plans to renew his current deal with Gladbach, which officially expires at the end of June 2022.

The 28-year-old has become a target for a number of clubs now that it is clear that he will become available next summer without a transfer fee when he leaves the Bundesliga side.

The Nerazzurri are aiming to move for him as a signing who can add quality to their backline without constituting a significant expenditure in terms of a transfer fee as they prioritize value in the market.
