Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana is set for his medicals with Inter today before signing a five-year contract to join on a free transfer next summer.

This according to French news outlet L’Equipe, who report that the 25-year-old is all set to make his move to the Nerazzurri official for July.

Inter have long had Onana identified as their preferred successor to Samir Handanovic in goal for the long term, and have only been waiting until they could make the signing official.

With the January window now open, the club are putting the finishing touches on the deal for the Cameroonian, with his medical set to be held today.

After completing his medicals with Inter, Onana will go off for international duty with Cameroon at the African Cup of Nations, and then he will return to spend the rest of the season with Ajax.

At the end of the season when the keeper’s contract with the Dutch champions expires at the end of June 2022, he will join Inter on a five-year deal.
