Arturo Vidal is set to start in midfield in place of the suspended Hakan Calhanoglu in Inter’s Serie A match against Bologna on Thursday.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the Chilean is the favourite to start the clash ahead of Roberto Gagliardini.

Calhanoglu is suspended for the Nerazzurri’s trip to Emilia-Romagna to face the Rossoblu following an accumulation of yellow cards with his booking against Torino in Inter’s last match before the winter break.

Inter coach Simone Inzaghi will have a choice to make on who starts in midfield without the 27-year-old who has been a regular fixture in the team for most of the season.

Gagliardini has been part of the midfield rotation over the first half of the season, but the coach looks likelier to go with Vidal, who had also started in place of the suspended Barella against the Granata before the break.
