Inter are interested in signing Lucas Digne from Everton, but only as a Plan B option to their priority target, Eintrachr Frankfurt wing-back Filip Kostic.

This according to Italian news outlet Calciomercato.com, who report that Kostic remains the Nerazzurri’s top target to arrive as a backup to Ivan Perisic on the left.

Kostic is Inter’s top target to take over from Perisic in the long term, but they are also considering a move for him in January to arrive as a backup to the 32-year-old initially for the rest of the season.

If the Nerazzurri are to miss out on Kostic during the January transfer window then they will resume their pursuit of him in June.

In the meantime, the club could look for a short-term loan of Digne this month to back up Perisic for the rest of the season should they miss out on Kostic, though they would still move for Kostic as the priority option in the summer.
