Inter midfielder Matias Vecino has turned down an offer to join Brazilian club Flamengo during the January transfer window.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, who report that the 30-year-old prefers to stay at Inter for the rest of the season over a move to the South American club.

Vecino is chief among the players whose departure could be on the way during the January transfer window, with the Uruguayan having spoken about being disappointed with the amount of playing time he has received so far this season.

A number of clubs have shown an interest in bringing the midfielder in, with Flamengo the latest club to have merged as suitors for him.

However, Vecino is not interested in making the switch to the Brazilian giants, turning down the possibility of a reunion with former Fiorentina head coach Paulo Sousa who has taken overin Rio de Janeiro this season.
