Inter wing-back Matteo Darmian is happy with the form of the Nerazzurri this season, and wants to win more trophies.

Speaking to Turin-based newspaper La Stampa, the 32-year-old emphasized that the entire team are enjoying themselves on the pitch, and that there is still a great desire to win more.

Darmian has already won the Scudetto with Inter, having joined from Parma in the summer of 2020 and found a role in the team as they overturned Juventus’s winning run and won their first Serie A title in eleven years.

This season, the former Palermo, Torino, and Manchester United man has been in excellent form as well, playing regularly up until a thigh injury which ruled him out of the last few matches before the winter break.

Darmian feels that there is still plenty more to give within this Nerazzurri team and can’t wait to get back out on the pitch.

Regarding competition on the right with summer signing Denzel Dumfries, he stated that “In a team like Inter it is expected that there will be competition in every position, right from the start of the season.”

“The players’ task is to always give the coach a hard decision to make,” he added.

He stated that “We always enjoy ourselves on the pitch and we play well together. We try to play good football.”

“We have a lot of important qualities from all the different points of view,” the wing-back continued, “mentality, desire to win, and the ability to suffer through the difficult moments.”
