Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci has picked up a muscle problem which could cause him to miss the Bianconeri’s Supercoppa Italian clash with Inter.

This is confirmed by Juventus officially, via Calciomercato.com, who state that the 34-year-old has picked up the thigh injury, although it remains to be seen how long he will be ruled out for by the issue.

Bonucci reported feeling a strain in his left thigh, although tests with the club’s medical staff did not reveal any serious injuries.

For now, the defender is not fully fit, and could miss the Bianconeri’s first match back from the winter break, away to Napoli on Thursday.

The 34-year-old is also a doubt for the Supercoppa clash with Inter on January 12, although it should be come clearer in the coming days whether the problem is serious enough to rule him out for this amount of time or whether he can recover.
