Bologna defender Mitchell Dijks expects Dutch compatriot Inter’s Denzel Dumfries to be a difficult opponent.

Speaking in a press conference ahead of the match, the Dutchman emphasized that he’ll have to be at his best to go up against his fellow countryman.

Dijks is expected to start on the left for the Rossoblu tomorrow, with Aaron Hickey missing out after testing positive for COVID-19.

The 28-year-old could well come across another player who came to Serie A from the Eredivisie in the form of Dumfries, who signed for Inter from PSV during the summer.

Dumfries was in flying form prior to the winter break and could look to get back to the same kind of start to the second half of the campaign, and Dijks feels that he is a player whose quality will make him tough to face.

“He’s a top player and I know him well,” he said of Dumfries, “tomorrow will be a good duel. I haven’t played in a while, I have to be smart in how I face him.”
