Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi could decide to start Federico Dimarco against Bologna tomorrow because of his strength as a set-piece taker.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the 24-year-old could be trusted from the start in the absence of the Nerazzurri’s usual set piece taker Hakan Calhanoglu.

Calhanoglu has started nearly every one of the Nerazzurri’s matches this season, and apart from his resurgent form in open play, he has been important to the team for the quality of his deliveries from dead balls.

The Turk will be suspended for the Nerazzurri’s away trip to Emilia-Romagna after picking up an accumulation of yellow cards with his booking against Torino before the winter break.

Dimarco is the player behind Calhanoglu in the pecking order for set pieces at Inter this season, and Inzaghi could look to have him on the pitch to maximize the Nerazzurri’s threat from these situations.
