Inter captain Samir Handanovic is still considering the club’s offer to extend his contract past next summer after Andre Onana arrives.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the Slovenian has not yet made up his mind on whether to stay on past June.

Inter are all set to sign Onana on a free transfer from Ajax when his deal runs out with the Dutch champions, having completed the player’s medicals yesterday.

Onana is the preferred long-term successor to Handanovic in goal, but the Nerazzurri are still offering Handanovic a renewal on his deal which expires at the end of June.

The 37-year-old could stay on as continuity while Onana settles in at the club.

Handanovic’s agent is currently seeing what other offers are out there for the keeper, and it remains to be seen whether he ultimately decides to commit his future to the Nerazzurri.
