Inter are looking at Borussia Monchengladbach left-back Ramy Bensebaini as an ideal long-term replacement for Ivan Perisic on the left.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, who report that the Nerazzurri are stepping up their efforts to sign the 26-year-old in the coming transfer windows.

Bensebaini’s current deal with Gladbach runs until the end of June 2023, and he is valued at around €22 million.

However, next summer the Bundesliga club could be convinced to negotiate a lower fee in order to avoid losing him on a free transfer at the end of his contract.

The Algerian is seen as having the right profile to take over from Perisic, and the Nerazzurri are exploring a move for him in the summer.

Meanwhile, Everton left-back Lucas Digne is still the player who Inter are following most closely to arrive on loan this month to back up Perisic in the short term.
