Former Inter Sporting Director Walter Sabatini believes that the Nerazzurri are well set-up going into the January transfer window.
Speaking to Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport in an interview published in yesterday’s print edition, the executive suggested that the Nerazzurri’s position this month is one of strength.
There is no guarantee that Inter will or won’t intervene in the transfer market this month, as the team have no real areas of weaknesses in the squad based on the first half of the season, but at the same time could look to strengthen.
The club have already gotten the signing of Andre Onana all but wrapped up this month, while they could also work towards other moves for next June and beyond.
Whatever Inter decide to do this month, Sabatini believes that the club are “In a good position” with respect to the transfer market.
Sabatini also had words for Andre Onana, who will arrive as goalkeeper on a free transfer next summer, and who he stated is “Very good, and entertaining to watch.”
“He reminds me a bit of Higuita,” he said, comparing the Cameroonian to Colombian legend Rene Higuita, and joked that “I hope that he doesn’t decide to do a Scorpion!”
