Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi is hoping that the club will extend the contract of wing-back Ivan Perisic beyond the end of June.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, who report that the coach is hoping that he will be able to continue to rely on the Croat next season and beyond.

Perisic had been linked with a move away from Inter during the summer, but instead he remained at the club where he has been one of the outstanding players for the team on the way to being top of the table after half a season gone.

The 32-year-old has cemented himself as one of Inzaghi’s most trusted starters, and the coach is hoping to be able to continue to work together beyond the summer.

Perisic’s current deal is set to expire at the end of June, and it remains to be seen if the club will be able to find an agreement on a renewal, but Inzaghi’s hope is that they will.
