Inter executives are moderately optimistic that German defender Matthias Ginter will accept the contract that they have proposed to him, according to a report in the Italian media.

As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, the German midfielder is attracting interest from more clubs than just Inter but the Nerazzurri are hopeful that he will choose to join them.

The contract offered to the Borussia Monchengladbach man would see him earn €3.5 million per season for the next four years.

The 26-year-old is expected to be the back up to Milan Skriniar but could also become a first choice defender depending on his performances and Inter’s other activity in the transfer window.

There is three other big clubs who have made contact with the German defender’s entourage since he made it clear that he would be leaving his club at the end of the season.

They are Chelsea, Barcelona, and Bayern Munich.
