Lazio midfielder Toma Basic is close to making a return for the Biancocelesti in time for their Serie A clash with Inter over the weekend.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that the Croat should be available in Lazio’s squad in time for Sunday’s match.

Inter will face their first match back from the winter break when they host Lazio at the San Siro on Sunday, having been unable to play Bologna yesterday due to COVID-19 cases in the Rossoblu squad.

Lazio head coach Maurizio Sarri is certain to be without key defender Francesco Acerbi for the clash, but he will get a boost in midfield in the form of Basic’s availability.

Felipe Anderson, Danilo Cataldi, and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic started in the Biancocelesti’s 3-3 draw against Empoli in Rome yesterday afternoon, and it remains to be seen if Basic takes any of their places in midfield against Inter.
