Inter are definitely set to extend the contract of head coach Simone Inzaghi past 2023, even though doing so is not an immediate priority.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that President Steven Zhang will convey the desire to stay on together to the coach once again when he visits Milan.

So far this season the club have been very happy with the job done by Inzaghi in working with the team after a difficult summer which saw key players depart alongside former head coach Antonio Conte.

The former Lazio boss had been appointed on a two-year deal initially, running until the end of June 2023, but the club are already planning to continue on with him well past this date.

Zhang will not get the new deal for Inzaghi formally wrapped up when he is in Italy this month, but he intends to reiterate once again the desire to continue working together and the intention to renew in the near future.
