Inter striker Edin Dzeko is aiming to make his return against Juventus in the Supercoppa Italiana after confirming that he is negative for COVID.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the 35-year-old has been given further confirmation that he is no longer positive for the virus after a laboratory test this morning.

Dzeko was one of three players to test positive for the virus upon returning to training from his winter holidays, along with goalkeeper Alex Cordaz and striker Martin Satriano.

The Bosnian has spent the past few days isolating in his home while waiting to test negative for the virus, but now he has been cleared by several tests to return to training.

The striker is not yet likely to be ready to appear against Lazio, at least from the start, and one of Alexis Sanchez or Joaquin Correa will start against the Biancocelesti tomorrow.

However, Dzeko has already begun to re-join training with the squad and he is aiming to start against the Bianconeri in the Supercoppa on Wednesday.
