Inter-linked River Plate striker Julian Alvarez is not pushing a move to Europe, but he is ready to consider one as the next step in his career.

Speaking to Argentine broadcaster Caracol Radio, the 21-year-old updated that he is currently focused on his work at his present club rather than transfer rumours, though acknowledged that he’d be open to a move away.

Alvarez’s form for River has attracted the transfer interest of a number of major European clubs, with the Nerazzurri one of the sides following the Argentine most closely.

The 21-year-old has been reported to be in talks with a handful of clubs over a move away from River, although as of yet he has made no concrete steps towards a transfer.

Alvarez’s agent is reportedly set to be in Milan soon as he meets with a number of European clubs, although the player is not preoccupied with transfer rumours for the moment.

“There have been several rumours linking me with European teams,” the striker stated. “Right now I am focused on River, then we’ll see what happens – if there is an offer and a good opportunity to make the next step, we will make a decision.”
