Inter have initiated the process of trying to sign Borussia Monchengladbach left-back Ramy Bensebaini.

This according to Italian journalist Niccolo Ceccarini, who reported in his column for TuttoMercatoWeb that the Nerazzurri have made contact with the Italian’s representatives, and also that they are considering Paris Saint-German’s Layvin Kurzawa.

Inter have made a left-sided player to back up Ivan Perisic as well as potentially replace the 32-year-old in the long term a priority for the January transfer window.

It is not certain that the Nerazzurri will sign a player in the position during the January transfer window, but either this month or in June they will likely bring in a player for the role.

Bensebaini has emerged as one of their main targets recently, and according to Ceccarini they have taken concrete steps towards signing the 27-year-old, possibly even as early as this month.

“Inter are testing the ground for a left wing-back,” he writes. “Given that they have still not gotten any closer to extending Ivan Perisic’s contract, Marotta and Ausilio are thinking not only about the present but also about next season.”

“Given the difficulties involved with Digne, the Nerazzurri have begun to make the first contacts for Ramy Bensebaini, Algerian left-back for Borussia Moenchengladbach, the same club at which Ginter plays,” he goes on.

He then clarifies that “Their goal is to find an agreement to bring him in on loan.”

Ceccarini also notes that Kurzawa is a possibility in the eyes of the club, writing that “Another profile to take into consideration is that of Kurzawa, who is no longer part of Paris Saint Germain’s plans.”
