Tottenham Hotspur head coach Antonio Conte would welcome a reunion with Christian Eriksen at the London club.

Speaking in a press conference, as reported by L’Interista, the coach stated that Tottenham would happily consider signing the Dane now that he is no longer with the Nerazzurri.

Eriksen worked his way into the team last season especially under Conte, forming an understanding with the coach and becoming a regular on the way to the Scudetto.

The 29-year-old has not been able to return for the Nerazzurri following his cardiac arrest at the Euros, and has terminated his contract by mutual consent as he cannot return to playing in Italy.

However, the midfielder would like to return to the pitch still, and he could reunite with both a familiar coach as well as his former team and come back to Spurs to play for Conte again.

“It would be great to see him back on the pitch playing football,” Conte said of the midfielder, “for everyone who worked with him and for those who know him.”

He added that “I don’t hide the fact that I was afraid in those moments. Eriksen is a top player, the doors will always be open for him here.”
