Bologna coach Sinisa Mihajlovic is rooting for a Napoli Scudetto win even though he still feels a connection to Inter.

Speaking to Milan-based newspaper Gazzett dello Sport in an interview published in to0day’s print edition, the coach explained his feelings about the Scudetto race as a former Inter player.

Inter have established a strong foothold for themselves in the Scudetto race, with city rivals AC Milan appearing to be their closest Scudetto rivals as well.

However, the Partenopei will still feel that they have a strong chance at mounting a challenge over the second half of the season should they recover the form that they showed across their first ten or so matches.

Mihajlovic hopes that the Neapolitan club can manage this and win their first Serie A title in over three decades, despite the connection that he has with the Nerazzurri as a former player for the club.

“I hope Napoli win because of the people,” he said, “I like the people of Naples. At Inter I was a player and assistant coach, it’s like my second family. But I have a special passion for Neapolitans, people with big hearts and grit, like us Serbs.”
