Legendary former Inter defender Beppe Bergomi feels that the Nerazzurri must be careful not to take three points for granted when they face Bologna later in the season.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, the 61-year-old emphasized that Inter must expect a difficult match from their game in hand compared to AC Milan and Napoli.

Inter are now behind the Rossoneri in the table after their city rivals beat Venezia 3-0 earlier today, though the Nerazzurri have two games in hand including this evening’s clash with Lazio.

The Nerazzurri were unable to play their first match back from the winter break against Bologna due to COVID cases in the Rossoblu’s squad, and the fixture will likely be postponed to a date next month.

This game in hand means that the Nerazzurri will have the potential to add three points compared to the Rossoneri, but as Bergomi is quick to point out, there is no guarantee of taking any result away from Emilia-R0magna.

“Inter have the potential for three extra points compared to the Rossoneri,” he said, “but they still have to go and play away in Bologna, which is never easy.”
