Former Juventus and Italy coach Marcello Lippi believes that right now Inter are the best team in Serie A by some distance.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Gr Parlamento, Lippi hailed Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi for the job that he has done to make his team the strongest in the Italian top flight so far this season.

Inter once again showed that their strength with their 2-1 win over Lazio yesterday evening, controlling the play for much of the match and extending their winning run in the league to eight matches in a row.

Inzaghi looks to have instilled his ideas in the team from front to back, and for the moment they look the clear favourites to defend their Scudetto crown.

Lippi believes this to be the case, and considers Inter to be in a class of their own even compared to the other teams at the top end of the Serie A table.

“There is one team who I consider to be notably superior to the others in terms of quality, tactical organization, and mentality, and it’s Inter,” he stated.

“I like the way Milan play, but I see Inter as stronger, more organized and calm,” he added. “Simone Inzaghi has done very well to build this team.”
