Inter defender Alexandar Kolarov is seriously considering a retirement from football as his injury problems are not going away.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the 36-year-old could decide to hang up his boots amid injuries which he struggles to recover from.

Kolarov has been linked with a move away from the Nerazzurri during the January transfer window, with the Serb having played very few minutes this season due to a combination of his injury and the depth ahead of him.

The defender has been working to get back to full fitness, but has continued to pick up injuries which have kept him out of the squad or made it difficult for him to find match fitness.

Seeking a new challenge outside of Inter where he would get regular playing time is a possibility for the 36-year-old, but increasingly so is ending his career as a footballer.
