Inter defender Milan Skriniar is glad to have gotten the assist for his goal against Lazio from his teammate and friend Alessandro Bastoni.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster DAZN after the match, the 26-year-old credited Bastoni for finding him for his headed winner in the Nerazzurri’s victory over the Biancocelesti at the San Siro.

Skriniar has already proven to be a goal threat this season given his aerial prowess, though he needs a good delivery before he can find the back of the net.

The likes of set piece takers Hakan Calhanoglu and Federico Dimarco are usually the most realiable source of dangerous balls into the box for the Nerazzurri, but this time it was Skriniar’s fellow defender Bastoni who delivered the ball.

Skriniar’s header proved to be the decisive strike in a 2-1 win, Inter’s eighth in a row in Serie A, and he is content with how things went.

“Scoring is always a wonderful feeling,” he stated, “and I was even happier to have gotten the assist from a friend of mine. I even hurt my knees a bit when I slipped.”

“I made the decision to make the run,” he went on, “and Bastoni put in a great cross, I’m always happy to score.”

“I think we are in good form,” Skriniar continued, “we prepared well for the match against Lazio.”

“From tomorrow onwards we’re thinking about the Supercoppa,” he added, “it will be a very tough match. Playing against Juve always means something more, including to the fans.”

On the absences in Juventus’s squad, he commented that “I don’t have a comment about that, let’s focus on ourselves.”

“I heard that Chiesa has gotten a bad injury, I’m certainly sorry to hear that,” he added. “But starting tomorrow we have to prepare the match in the best way possible, and win the Supercoppa, which would mean a lot to us.”
