Defendee Alessandro Bastoni was Inter’s standout performer in yesterday’s Serie A win over Lazio, according to Italian media.

The 22-year-old was given a grade of 8/10 in the player ratings for the win over the Biancocelesti published in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who named him as the man of the match.

Bastoni got on the scoresheet for the first time in nearly two years to open the scoring before providing the assist for Milan Skriniar’s second-half winner with an excellent cross into the box.

In addition, the 22-year-old looked composed defensively and in possession in a shining overall display.

Captain Samir Handanovic, meanwhile, received only a 4.5/10 score for his display and was named as the Nerazzurri’s worst performer especially in light of his decision to come out of his goal, partly at fault for Ciro Immobile’s goal for Lazio.

The newspaper also highlighted Marcelo Brozovic’s steady display to control the midfield battle in the absence of Hakan Calhanoglu, giving the 29-year-old a solid 7/10 grade.
