Legendary former Juventus midfielder Alessio Tacchinardi feels that Juventus could struggle against Inter in tomorrow’s Supercoppa Italiana clash with Inter due to the absence of Federico Chiesa.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster TMW Radio, the former midfielder emphasized the effect that playing without the forward could have for the Bianconeri.

Chiesa had to come off the pitch in pain during the Bianconeri’s dramatic 4-3 win away to Roma, and subsequent tests confirmed that he had suffered an ACL tear.

It remains to be seen exactly how long the 24-year-old will be out for, but what is absolutely certain is that he will not be included in the squad for tomorrow’s match.

The former Fiorentina winger is not the only player who is ruled out from the Bianconeri’s squad, and Tacchinardi feels that these injuries could play a decisive role and give Inter the advantage over their great Turin rivals.

“It’s difficult,” he stated. I don’t know if Bonucci will recover. They’re without several important players against Inter.”

“It’s a one-off match, he went on, “but I think Inter are in very good form. On an attacking level, Chiesa gave the team a lot of impetus and speed and he will be missed.”

“Dybala scored a phenomenal goal against Roma, sure, but Chiesa’s pace was still missed,” he added. “We need the Argentine to be at 150%.”
