Former Hellas Verona and Fiorentina midfielder Antonio Di Gennaro believes that Inter have about a 70% chance of beating Juventus in tomorrow’s Supercoppa Italiana match.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster TMW Radio, the 63-year-old emphasized the Nerazzurri’s superiority in midfield and the absences from the Bianconeri’s squad due to injury and suspension as factors why the former are favourites,

Inter will know that the Supercoppa clash will not be a straightforward task by any means, and that the divergent form of themselves an their rivals won’t tell the whole story.

The Bianconeri have a strong squad and especially in recent weeks have been clicking into gear, and they will be up for a one-off match to win a trophy without any question.

However, Inter still look to be the form team in Italy at the moment, while the Bianconeri are also dealing with a squad depleted for a number of reasons ahead of the match.

“They certainly have significant absences,” Di Gennaro said of Juventus, “foremost among them that of Chiesa. Inter now have 70% of the chances of winning. Now it’s Kulusevski’s time, he must begin to show something.”

He added that “Inter have the strongest midfield in Italy, so everyone manages to get on the scoresheet. This is not so with Juve.”
