Inter are still making the arrival of a left-sided player to back up Ivan Perisic a transfer priority this month even though they are restricted in how much they can spend.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that Nerazzurri President Steven Zhang has confirmed that the club should target a deputy for the 32-year-old.

Zhang has been discussing the transfer strategy for both the January window and the summer as part of his agenda while he is in Milan.

Aleksandar Kolarov looks to be on his way out this month, and Federico Dimarco is principally seen as an option for the backline, so the club are hoping to bring in a player who can back up Perisic on the left as their main target.

So far, the club have not been able to convince Borussia Monchengladbach on an initial loan deal for the €20 million-rated Ramy Bensebaini, nor have they unlocked a loan deal for Eintracht Frankfurt’s €10 million-rated Filip Kostic.

However, Zhang has given the club the go-ahead to keep working on bringing in a left-sided player, despite the budgetary restrictions.
