Former Lazio, Manchester United, and Inter midfielder Juan Sebastian Veron feels that Nerazzurri head coach Simone Inzaghi is a very high-level coach and the right man at the club.

Speaking to Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport in an interview published in today’s print edition, the Argentine praised Inzaghi’s coaching abilities and also spoke highly of his countryman Joaquin Correa.

Inzaghi has made a big impact at the Nerazzurri since joining from Lazio last summer, taking the team that won the Scudetto under Antonio Conte last time around and imposing his own ideas on it.

One player who followed the coach from the Biancocelesti is Correa, who has not yet made the kind of impact that Inzaghi has at Inter despite playing his way into the team.

However, according to Veron the 27-year-old still has all the potential to reach the highest level in a Nerazzurri shirt.

Of the impact made by his former Lazio teammate Inzaghi, Veron stated that “Simone matured at Lazio, and now he has the experience he needs – coaching a great club is very difficult, but he makes everything seem incredibly easy.”

“Difficult moments will come and we will have to see how Inter will react,” he went on, “but we can already say that Inzaghi has added to the style of play from under Conte.”

He elaborated, “Less emphasis on the counterattack and more play in possession – this is Simone’s mark.”

Of Correa, he stated that “As we say in Argentina, there’s no ceiling to how good Joaquin can become. For me he is a player with no limits, he can become a great player 0 he still has a lot to learn, but he arrived at Inter at the right time.”

“He has already given a glimpse,” Veron went on, “but he must have the personality to make the team revolve around him. It is he who must impose himself, who must have conviction in his abilities.”

“He has already learned a lot with experience, and if he can make the leap mentally then Joaquin can be a special player,” he added.

Of Inter midfielder Marcelo Brozovic, he stated that”In the last two years I’ve seen a lot of growth from him. When you have someone like that, who moves the ball with intent and quality, the whole team clicks.”

“It is no coincidence that Inter have improved a lot with him,” he added. “But also the entire midfield, with Calhanoglu and Barella, complements each other very well, the team has good chemistry centrally.”

Of this season’s Inter, he stated that “They found consistency, the change of coach didn’t impact them, on the contrary the team has even improved.”

“Even though they lost a top player like Lukaku, nobody noticed because the whole team responded and equally quality players came in,” he concluded.
