Inter defender Aleksandar Kolarov could decide to join the coaching staff of Nerazzurri head coach Simone Inzaghi after he retires from playing.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the 36-year-old is considering an immediate switch to a coaching role in the team when he hangs up his boots.

Kolarov is currently fit enough to be included in the Nerazzurri’s squad to face Juventus in the Supercoppa Italiana this evening, but for much of the season he has struggled to get to full fitness and has rarely appeared.

The Serb is contemplating his options, which including seeing out the season at Inter, leaving for the second half of the campaign in search of more regular playing time, or deciding to end his playing career.

Should Kolarov decide to retire from playing, he could still take up a coaching role as part of Inzaghi’s staff immediately as early as this month, or he could also make that transition at the end of the season.
