Inter midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu will be looking to prove himself against Juventus in this evening’s Supercoppa Italiana final.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who note that the 27-year-old has not had much success against the Bianconeri so far in his career.

Calhanoglu faced Juventus in two different finals, losing 1-0 in the 2019 Supercoppa Italiana final having been soundly beaten 4-0 in the previous year’s Coppa Italia final.

Moreover, the Turk’s overall record against the Bianconeri with both the Rossoneri and Inter has seen him lose eight matches, draw three, and win on only two occasions, never getting on the scoresheet in the process.

Both Calhanoglu and the Nerazzurri are in good form this season, and the midfielder will see this evening’s match as an opportunity to prove himself against opposition who he has only rarely been able to find much joy against thus far in his career.
