Inter defender Stefan de Vrij has implied that Inter will not stop working hard after their Supercoppa Italiana triumph over Juventus on Wednesday night, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media.

Speaking during an interview on television with Sport Mediaset after the match, via FCInternews, Stefan de Vrij initially expressed joy at having won the match but did add that it was a very intense 120 minutes.

“It was an intense match, beautiful to see. I’m glad we took it home.”

In regard to whether he expected Juventus to be able able to push Inter all the way until the end of extra time, Stefan de Vrij said that anything at all can happen in a final and had praise for the Bianconeri.

“In a final anything can happen, it was a match between two strong teams. There was a high intensity, with both teams trying to win. We are happy to have brought it home.”

Inter won the match 2-1 thanks to a goal from Alexis Sanchez that proved to be the last kick of the match at the end of extra time, denying Juventus a chance to win a penalty shoot-out.

Stefan de Vrij certainly knows that the team wants to keep winning silverware, saying: “It is a very beautiful thing, we are also very happy for the fans and the club. We were very excited, we wanted to win it at all costs. We certainly want to continue growing, we will still be hungry for victories.”
