Former Udinese coach Luigi De Canio has said that Inter proved they are a better team than Juventus now after winning the Supercoppa Italiana final at San Siro on Wednesday night, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media.

Speaking whilst on Sky Sport, via L’Interista, Luigi De Canio discussed the Supercoppa final that saw Inter run out as 2-1 winners after a winning goal right at the end of extra time courtesy of Alexis Sanchez.

Luigi De Canio suggested that Inter are now actually aware of their strength and quality and that is what makes them much better than the Bianconeri now.

“Without a doubt, Inter are aware of their means and now they are a team that plays like it. Already last year they had this inner strength and, perhaps, this is what they lacked in other years. Last night they proved to be stronger than Juventus.”

Inter actually fell behind in the game after making a strong start when Weston McKennie headed Juventus in front, but a Lautaro Martinez penalty drew the Nerazzurri level soon after.

Inter struggled to find a way through the Juventus defence until Alexis Sanchez’s goal with the final kick of the game.
