Former Inter and Atalanta defender Andrea Mandorlini feels that La Dei can trouble the Nerazzurri in tomorrow’s Serie A clash in spite of the latter’s excellent form.

Speaking to Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport in an interview published in today’s print edition, the former defender emphasized the difficulty of facing a side with Atalanta’s intensity and organization after the Nerazzurri’s draining Supercoppa Italiana clash with Juventus.

Inter have won eight Serie A matches in a row, but few of the opponents who they’ve beaten along the way can boast the strength that Atalanta can.

La Dei are themselves in good form and have showed season on season that they can give a tough match to virtually any opponent.

Mandorlini feels that Atalanta’s intense and organized style will be something which Inter must be wary of as they get their energy back from the week.

“Inzaghi’s team is in brilliant form psycholgically and physically, but Atalanta is a dangerous team, who are finding their identity once again,” he said.

Mandorlini went on that “I think that La Dei are the most difficult opponent for Inter at the moment, especially because there is a lot of physical and mental energy that they must recover after the Supercoppa.”

“Winning it was certainly important as it increased their winning mentality, but there’s also the physical aspect of it – it was a match that took a lot out of everyone,” he emphasized.

“It was still a final and it was against Juve,” he concluded. “That could make the difference for Inter.”
