Inter are working to get a deal wrapped up now to sign River Plate striker Julian Alvarez during the summer window.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the Nerazzurri are aiming for a deal similar to the one that saw them sign Lautaro Martinez in June 2018 after having secured his signature in the January window.

Inter are among the clubs with the strongest interest in signing Alvarez, who has emerged as a target for a number of major European clubs.

City rivals AC Milan are also seriously interested in the 21-year-old, whose agent was in Milan at the beginning of the month to meet with both clubs, while Napoli have also joined the race for his signature.

The Nerazzurri are now working towards getting Alvarez’s signing secured this month and then waiting until the summer transfer window, though it remains to be seen if they can beat out the competition.
