Inter will have a chance to put a major Scudetto rival behind them should they defeat Atalanta in Serie A this evening.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Corriere della Sera, who note that a Nerazzurri win would put them eleven points clear of La Dei at the top of the table.

Atalanta are one of the teams in the top four alongside Inter and, despite their slight stumble in form before the winter in break, have looked to be one of the most formidable sides in Serie A all season.

They currently sit eight points behind the Nerazzurri in the table, but the quality of their play is more than enough to make them credible contenders for the Scudetto, especially if they were to cut the deficit to five points this evening.

A draw was the result the last time these two sides met in Serie A, and this result would keep the gap at a comfortable eight points in favour of the Nerazzurri, but they will be hoping to kill off their rivals instead.
