Inter’s 8 match winning streak in the Serie A came to an crashing end after a goalless draw at the Gewiss Stadium in Bergamo.

The Nerazzurri looked tired and sluggish throughout, especially in the first half when Atalanta pressed high but worked themselves into the game and created quite a few good chances which were all squandered by mainly Edin Dzeko but also Danilo D’Ambrosio.

Samir Handanovic – 8: A captains performance by the veteran Slovenian goalkeeper who was just as good as he can be when he is at his best. MOTM.

Danilo D’Ambrosio – 6: Did well to the right of the back 3 but wasn’t as good in attack as expected but got a great chance to win the game which he squandered.

Milan Skriniar – 6: Just like rest of the Nerazzurri defenders he was solid defensively but struggled in attack. Becoming a good option in middle of back 3.

Alessandro Bastoni – 6: Not as good in attack as we’ve become spoilt with in recent months but did decently except before off when Muriel dispossessed him.

Matteo Darmian – 6: Stable defensively providing cover but offered little to nothing when going forward. Almost scored just before coming off.

Nicolo Barella – 6,5: One of the better Nerazzurri performers on the night and his back-heel pass at the end deserved a better fate. Looked least tired.

Marcelo Brozovic – 6,5: Made one mistake which almost cost Inter a goal but before and after that he rarely misplaced a pass but wasn’t his usual self in attack.

Hakan Calhanoglu – 5: Didn’t have good game making many simple unforced errors including squandering corners. Looked tired and sluggish.

Ivan Perisic – 6,5: Put in a shift defensively and led by example by putting what was best for the team ahead of himself. A true leader at this Inter.

Alexis Sanchez  – 5: Claimed he was a caged lion after Supercoppa winner against Juventus but played like a neutered house-cat against Atalanta.

Edin Dzeko – 5: Poor game by the veteran Bosnian striker who not only missed a couple of sitters but struggled in the build-up phase as well.

Arturo Vidal – 6: Came on in the 67th minute for Calhanoglu to offer midfield stability which he did to a certain extent but made too many simple mistakes.

Denzel Dumfries – 6: Replaced Darmian in 67th minute and immediately Inter attacked more down the right but almost gifted a goal away with dubious defending.

Joaquin Correa – 5,5: Substituted on for Alexis Sanchez in the 67th minute and offered virtually nothing in attack whilst making the team defensively solid.

Lautaro Martinez – 6,5: Showed when he came on why he should have come on sooner as his intelligent runs caused Atalanta all sorts of problems.

Stefan de Vrij – 6: Was brought on in the 82nd minute with Lautaro replacing Bastoni and Dzeko and offered Inter serenity in the middle of defence.

Simone Inzaghi – 6: His starting line-up made sense given the 120 minutes played midweek but not bringing Lautaro on sooner made no sense whatsoever.

Davide Massa – 6,5: Consistent refereeing from start to finish by Massa and his team albeit making some mistakes which had no impact on outcome.

Inter – 6: Probably an expected performance given the 120 minute against Juventus midweek which took a lot out of the team. Onwards and upwards.
